What the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh,
God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin,
condemned sin in the flesh.

The law having a shadow of good things to come, [and] not the very
image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered
year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. For then would
they not have ceased to be offered?--By him all that believe are
justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law
of Moses.

Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he
also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might
destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; and deliver
them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to
bondage. For verily he took not on [him the nature of] angels; but he took
on [him] the seed of Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to
be made like unto [his] brethren.
