Remember
That Brother Eugene spoke on Resolutions. I receive every month a small little book called "Our Daily Bread". Each day of the week there is a reading, and while I was turning to tonights I came across this one called Resolutions and thought I would share it with you all. It started out with a Gentlemen who was asked to list 70 of his resolutions, dedicating himself to live in harmony with God and other. Here is just a few of his resolutions: To do what ever is most to God's glory, To do my duty for the good of mankind in general, Never to do anything, which I should be afraid to do, if it were the LAST HOUR of my LIFE. And it went on with many more. Then it asked us to go to Nehemiah 10:28-31 ( which I have added here for you all to read more about)
Nehemiah 10:28-31
28 "The rest of the people—priests, Levites, gatekeepers, singers, temple servants and all who separated themselves from the neighboring peoples for the sake of the Law of God, together with their wives and all their sons and daughters who are able to understand- 29 all these now join their brothers the nobles, and bind themselves with a curse and an oath to follow the Law of God given through Moses the servant of God and to obey carefully all the commands, regulations and decrees of the LORD our Lord.
30 "We promise not to give our daughters in marriage to the peoples around us or take their daughters for our sons.
31 "When the neighboring peoples bring merchandise or grain to sell on the Sabbath, we will not buy from them on the Sabbath or on any holy day. Every seventh year we will forgo working the land and will cancel all debts.
After reading this over again, it all comes back to what Eugene says there are not too many who make resolutions towards him.
