Welcome to Wednesday, we are half way through the week. Thanks to all that attended our Bible Class. Pastor Jim spoke on Stumbling. Our Scripture lessons came from the following scriptures.
Proverbs 4:19-22
19 But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness;
they do not know what makes them stumble.
20 My son, pay attention to what I say;
listen closely to my words.
21 Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart;
22 for they are life to those who find them
and health to a man's whole body.
Isaiah 28:7
7 And these also stagger from wine
and reel from beer:
Priests and prophets stagger from beer
and are befuddled with wine;
they reel from beer,
they stagger when seeing visions,
they stumble when rendering decisions.
Isaiah 59:10
10 Like the blind we grope along the wall,
feeling our way like men without eyes.
At midday we stumble as if it were twilight;
among the strong, we are like the dead.
Jeremiah 46:6
6 "The swift cannot flee
nor the strong escape.
In the north by the River Euphrates
they stumble and fall.
Matthew 2:8
8He sent them to Bethlehem and said, "Go and make a careful search for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him."
John 11:9
9Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours of daylight? A man who walks by day will not stumble, for he sees by this world's light.
1 Peter 2:8
8and,
"A stone that causes men to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall."[a] They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for.
Footnotes:
1 Peter 2:8 Isaiah 8:14
Isaiah 8:14
14 and he will be a sanctuary;
but for both houses of Israel he will be
a stone that causes men to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall.
And for the people of Jerusalem he will be
a trap and a snare.
I have enclosed all the scriptures that we went over. If you would like to know Jesus and the Bible more, come and join us on Tuesday for our Bible Class. We would love to see you there.
Have a great day.
